House of Honey in La Canada: A Home Collected
Where Modern Architecture Learns to Play
Perched on three acres of wild hillside, this La Canada home sits high above the valley, all glass, light, and long views.
Originally built in 2013 and inspired by the lineage of Buff & Hensman and Richard Neutra, the architecture already had a strong point of view. We stepped in to make it feel lived in, layering in warmth, texture, and a more personal rhythm. A few precise architectural moves deepen the connection to the landscape, while inside, the approach is collected rather than decorated, with pieces that carry a bit of history and a sense of humor. The kitchen, anchored by twin travertine islands, tends to draw a crowd.
The result is a house that feels both grounded and a little wild, exactly as it should.
