Set within lush Montecito gardens, this Spanish Moresque residence carries a rare architectural purity, once described by the home’s architect George Washington Smith as among the finest of its kind. Nearly a century after its debut in Vogue, the home’s new owners were drawn to its history but ready to make it their own.

We approached the project as a dialogue. Respectful, but not too polite. Music runs through the home, culminating in a moody blue bar with a small stage layered in vintage Persian rugs, designed for the live performances the couple loves to host.
